Solution-focused hypnotherapy is different to traditional hypnotherapy in a few ways. The main change is that solution focused is a combined process designed to help reduce anxiety, calm the mind and support you through the challenges you might be facing. I use a combination of psychotherapy and hypnosis to help clients make positive changes in a relatively short period of time.
It’s also about looking forward, not back. Rather than continually dwelling on the problems that caused you to seek help, we focus on the present and the future in a positive way, rewiring your brain to build new healthy patterns of behaviour. This breaks the negative-thinking cycle and allows you to make real and positive change in your life.
Hypnosis is one element of your hypnotherapy session and, put simply, is just a state of focused attention. It is similar to daydreaming, or to being so engrossed in a task that time flies by. The main difference between daydreaming and hypnosis is that, with hypnosis, I will guide you into this focused state.
It is a safe, powerful technique creating a deeply relaxed state of the body, mind and emotions. We use the time while you are in this focused state to reinforce the positive thought patterns that you have identified during your therapy session.
